Στη Βόρεια Αφρική πολλές από τις αναθηματικές λυχνίες που κρέμονται στις συναγωγές είναι φτιαγμένες από γυαλί. Οι αναθηματικές λυχνίες από ορείχαλκο που κρέμονται στους τοίχους ονομάζονται “καντίλ”.
